Title: My first new(old)tool in awhile..........
Post by: Ray Smi7th on June 16, 2016, 08:20:55 PM
Haven't been on here too much of late due to some health issues but I did find this little gem the other day. I also collect knives and as this one had a knife blade within,I guess you could call it a multi-collectible.
Made for Montgomery-Ward it is an old spark plug cleaner/gapper. The inside contains a small wire brush which I assume was used to scrub the spark plug electrode and surrounding area. The small knife blade(shaped similar to a quill knife used to trim writing quills)probably to scrape stubborn carbon deposits. The T shaped tool to adjust the ground electrode and the six fold-out gauges ranging from .018" to .040". Goes nicely with my small collection of antique automotive tools.

Very nice! And as a bonus, it is all there, readable, and not deep into rust!

A very handy spark plug tool... something for every one.

I have a similar one marked "Wizard" and sold by Western Auto.

This design is so generic it would be very difficult to figure out who actually made them.
