Title: Tool search at the Regional Market in Syracuse
Post by: amecks on May 22, 2016, 11:48:58 AM
The Regional Market is a produce market and Saturdays sells produce, Sundays it's a flea market and anything goes.
I went in search of the Sears 1/4" hex drive to complete the set for this rigged up tool:

Well I did not find the "Sears Companion" socket  but I did find a Dunlap socket which was obviously the preceding issue of the same tool set.
I picked up this Titan tool box for $10...

It had the Dunlap set with all the sockets.  On the left of the photo is a little unmarked S wrench, a Ford wrench, two very old Snap-On F200 5/8 sockets, an older Snap-On 11/16 socket, a Husky and a Plomb socket.  All the other sockets are 1/2 hex drive, mostly Dunlap, and there's a couple adapters and a drive handle marked PATENT DEC 12 1922.  There's a Penens 11/16x19/32 wrench and neat little Spearpoint Made In England wrench that will look good with my T Williams set.
Most of this will end up on eBay and maybe I'll make the $10 back!
Meanwhile my 1/4 hex tool is now a complete set.  Maybe someday I'll find the correct socket but at least now it is usable.
