Title: Attn: Lauver; Good News Bad News
Post by: amecks on May 21, 2016, 02:34:36 PM
Lauver,  I was poking around Garage Gazette and found you had a set of Sears 1/4" hex drive sockets and driver.  My step-dad passed away two years ago and he had a set.  Do you want the good news first or the bad news?

Good news:  I have the socket tray!   (Edit 5/22 ! - I have also found the hex key driver - looks like an allen wrench but has the retainer balls at both ends).

Bad news: I threw out the plastic pouch. (Sorry!)

Last year I found a metal handle hex shaft tool.  It had a weird tool end but the handle was 1/4" hex and had a hollow knurled handle with a metal screw cap.  So I took the shaft out of the Sears driver and pushed into the metal handle.  Now I had a usable tool that would fit hex sockets.  The only problem now was that I did not have a 3/8" socket - it was missing from the set.

Please keep your eyes out for a 3/8" socket 1/4" hex drive.  They are marked U.S.A.
PM your address and I'll send you the socket tray.  I also have the two square sockets if you need them.
Regards
Al
