-
Glad to see you back.
-

Good to see my favorite hang out back...
-
Papaw, if you have a list of members from the crashed board please post it. Maybe one of us knows where to find someone on it and can tell them the good news.
-
I will post a list tomorrow morning. I have posted in the other forums and on Facebook.
Let me get some rest and I will start building the sections.

Welcome back! Nothing like having something taken away to make us realize how much we value it.
-
Good to be back. Time to rebuild.
-
I'm ready to post some ratchet pics. Get that section up and running soon. I discovered something very interesting today. I'll gather my info and post it as soon as it opens.

I was not on before, but I am here now, so you can advertise the site as ”new and vastly improved!”
-
Hi!!! I'm new. I'm 64longstep's wife. I don't collect any tools but do help support his hobby and go with him to look for rusty things. I enjoyed reading the posts from the old forum and checking out the finds. I look forward to interacting with all of you.

this work for you ?
snap on/blue point line wrench's and snap on 5/8 drive overstrike sockets

That's funny that you should put a picture of a 5/8 drive socket set. I just picked up a modern Proto 1-1/4 inch six point socket in 5/8 drive. It is a black impact socket # 7640-H. A odd ball for sure.
Someone over at the Garage Journal said that CP made a impact tool in that size.

some industrys still use 5/8 drive sockets from what im told. I bought a armstrong 1/2 to 5/8 its an impact adapter from the local industrial supplier so there still being made i assume.

Alright boys and girls, I'm back now also......

Do you think there is a chance all old posts will be saved?
-
Geeze, go to bed and end up missing out on something. Last time I go to sleep.
-
Do you think there is a chance all old posts will be saved?
I may be able to find a few, but in general, no.
-
I was gone to Texas for a few days to buy old wrenches and came back to find that Tooltalk has disappeared!
What happened?
-
A malware attack on the FORMER hosting service destroyed all php files and the forum and the website were lost.
-
Good Job Really glad you are back
-
Great to see us back online! Thanks for your Hard Work Papaw!

That's too bad, I was almost at 500 posts :(
-
Hm wrench checking in.
-
Well, it took about a dozen tries spread over the last couple of days, but I finally managed to register. System kept refusing my e-mail address; was wondering if it was because it's the same one I had used on the older incarnations of Papawswrench / Tool Talk. Apparently not, because this time it went through fairly smoothly. Good thing, too, because I just closed the only other e-dress I had (by retiring!).
-
Glad you made it, Ron!
Help us rebuild the Power Tool Forum!
-
Thanks, Papaw! I intend to help with rebuilding of the power tools area; it may take a little while before I'm up to speed, though. This layout doesn't seem to be quite as intuitive as the V-board one, but maybe it will get easier as I become familiar with it.
-
Glad your back online. To bad most of the information on your old site is lost. Lot's of good stuff gone.
How many post's before I can shake that newbie tag under my name?
-
I usually don't care about those things, but I did adjust the system so that your "newbie" tags will go a way with a lot fewer posts than most forums use. It will only take 10 posts to change it, and 15 to make "Full Member" status. Once we get most of the old members back, I will up those levels.
-
I'm ready to reboot the ratchet internal mechanism's thread whenever you give the word.
Really looking forward to restoring TT to what it was before the destruction.
-
Do it! I hope we can encourage everyone to resurrect a lot of the old stuff we had.
-
I still have the pic of the guts of the stainless Craftsman 1/2 ratchet. And I still have some pics of the PH phakes and the double ended adjustable I made… fake
