Checking just a bit on Google, that seems to be the price range. If you still have some, why are you thinking of buying more at today's price? It really stays good a long time if you close the container after use.

Back in the '60s there were discussions of Loktite in some gun magazines -- securing scope mounts and the like.   One alternative often mentioned (and used) was nail polish.  A whole lot cheaper, and it seemed to do the job.

Yeh it sure is expensive, Just the other day I bought a small tube at homedepot for 7 bucks, it was like .2 onces.

So yeh makes sense, its expensive but it works well.

Try super glue instead.
