What? What's that? We're over half way through January? !!!!!! Shame on me..... I've always wished my wrench friends a merry Christmas. .... shame on me!!! I hope everyone survived the holidays... and hopefully enjoyed them, too! The holiday season is a complete racket for me due to catering a bunch of parties. For one, the dessert I made was creme brule . For anyone who doesn't know, that involves a torch and burning sugar at the last moment. The lady had asked me, " you aren't going to burn down my kitchen, are you?"
"That's only happened once," I replied. I don't think she enjoyed my humor! !! I failed to realize how bad my torch from the shop looked.... dust covered, rusted.... not a good look for a kitchen... I rubbed it several times on my chefs coat and hoped no one noticed!!!
Timmy got a punching bag and boxing gloves. Unfortunately for me , aunt birdie seemed like a much better target then the punching bag!!! I got several ddictionaries. .. machinist tools, leather tools.... to which the kids said, "you must have been on Santa's bad list, all you got was dictionaries! !!!"
I got some prized clamps I've always wanted but couldn't afford... 50 a peice!!!
Kids said, " you get those things every time you have a birthday or christmas, they're boring!"
The kids wanted to make Christmas cookies with me. So, I went over to mom and dad's to make them together. As the lack of luck would have it, it had been raining for days.... no exercise for the kids. I heard this ridiculous racket coming from upstairs..."mom, what is that?"
"Your dad and Timmy are playing hockey up there."
Have you ever noticed that bad things are to come when mom's husband becomes my dad, or mom's son becomes my brother, or dad's wife becomes my mother.... nothing good happens when those words are uttered!
Anyhow, Darn kids got me in trouble.
"Can we eat a cookie? Can we eat some more dough?"
"Sure,Eat whatever you want, just don't tell your parents!"
That was the wrong thing to say! When Mary came to pick them up, the first thing they said was, "we had so much fun, mom. Aunt birdie told us to lie to you!!!"
Damn kids! I'm already the social misfit of the family and I didn't need any help from them!!!
Anyhow, the holidays and time with the family is always fun:)

No, she's just demonstrating how organized she is in the new year: she's wishing us Merry Christmas eleven months early. Get it done and forget about it; good plan.
