Got this iron, jack type tool at auction. They said it was a fence stretcher. It measures 23 inches closed and will extend to 33 inches and will jack in both directions and is marked "Patent applied for" and TREX in a diamond. Anyone know for sure?

hmmm could be a old fender fixer tool? 1920's but most likely a fence tool.

Looks like a rim tool for demountable auto wheels, pre-1930 for the most part. Many of them have 3 arms.

You got it John K
Trex rim tool. I have type that 2 arms fold in, and a fender shrinker that pulls the old fender in, which look a little bit like this .
Pic and story is from American Garage and Auto Dealer publication. June 1919

Congrats on the neat old tool SuperZ, and good job tracking it down O.G.

Thanks for the ID. Looks like it was dangerous to use!
