Well, I have to take back some of what I have been saying about auctions on papawswrench.
Stopped by a little farm auction just yesterday and had some luck. Auction started at 1:00 and I was gone by 1:20. Bought one flat.
Contained a curved logo Craftsman hatchet circa 1927, a Craftsman version of the Buck Rogers Millers Falls push drill with the red Tenite cap, a nice 9-piece set of leather punches in a wrapper, a magnetic inclinometer, a hog ringer, and some other assorted nuts and bolts.
$2.50
The hatchet handle will require some TLC. It was held on by a steel wedge shimmed with leather and seven--no kidding--nails. Two of the nails were square.

Pictures, pictures!
I have a couple of early Craftsman planes. I do wish they'd kept that early logo - although keeping it would have made it harder to ID the early stuff.

Sorry, can't do the picture thing. Can't get the site's "insert image" to appear in the text box.
Mine is exactly like this one--but I have an original handle--now with the nails removed and a hickory wedge holding it securely.

Northwoods,
On photobucket, go into your picture
select the < symbol with 3 ball ends (at the bottom of the picture)
select the third option "copy link to clipboard"
Click in the bottom box ( marked "img" to the left of the box)
The box will flash and say copied.
(At this point the image link will be in your clipboard)
Paste the link information within your forum text.
Voila! When you post your picture will be there. You can't move your picture in photobucket or the link won't work anymore.
