Title: MVWC Meeting and Auction
Post by: Lewill2 on October 25, 2015, 12:30:53 PM
How about a recap of the MVWC auction this weekend from one of you that were in attendance when you have a chance. I had a few absentee bids entered and hopefully I was lucky to win something.

It was a very good time. Stan had several boxes of absentee winners;maybe some of them were yours. Biggest surprise to me was a 6 inch IHC adjustable bringing over $200. Assume it was 999429R1 but didn't examine it closely and maybe there was something special about it.
Was surprised by what some of the cutouts with damage brought. Made a couple of bids on the Casaday but had decided not to buy it unless everyone was napping and they were not.
Nice selection of 4 inch adjustables Prices ranged fron $160 for the J C Penney to $5 for some of the offshore brands. I got a handful  of them but fell asleep on the Jaguar Garrington which went for $30.
An overall good auction.

Could bore you with statistics -- several attendees were carrying lists as a favor for friends so the number of bidders was vastly greater than the number of seats filled.

I always hope the winning absentees are not disappointed by the items when they get them even though I have nothing to do with preparing the catalog.  (Only a few of the 44 people I represented won zero;  I have a small box of "only won one," and a similar set of "won two," on up to  "won 34" and "won 57.")   PLANET JR. 312  will be a Canadian resident.

I'll put up some "group photos" on ( https://www.facebook.com/Missouri-Valley-Wrench-Club-Inc-783942938369230/ ) later.

I took off from Wednesday until the following Thursday - just to drive out Thursday and then back Sunday or Monday.

Got a bad cold and cancelled my plans. Bummed.

I'll make the spring event, though.

I think I want to join the MVWC.  If for nothing rlse the newsletter.....

Sounds like it was a good meet and auction. Sorry I missed it. Hopefully 2016 will find me less involved with non-tool-related distractions.
