Title: need help putting tools in the box

went to an auction the PO had used one box for all his 1/4 stuff.

I heed to know what started life in this box.

I'm going to say Pennens, only because I have a hex drive set and it came in a red holder. I think Bonney used blue but I'm not sure.

What stuff was in the box?

The use of a friction latch makes it a low end box.
All the bonney boxes I have ever seen have either hinged padlock latches, or suitcase snap latches. The same seems to be true for Plomb. Sk used friction latches for their small sets, but I have never seen them use red....

If I had to make an off the wall guess, I would be thinking more like Indestro/Duro...
(Unfortunatly, I have seen that general type of design used a lot for no-name sets, like the Bernzomatic set (tho it's different than your box)) ...

Decent references for boxes are even harder to find than references for the wrenches..

Is it by any chance 6-3/4 x 2-1/2 x 1 ?
It looks just like the Proto 4795 box, which they also used for the 1/4 drive set, but the set doesn't show a divider. (The latch design, and very rounded corners match tho, and they came in red...)

I bought it off craigslist. The box is Fleet, but the tools that were contained in it are Penens. I doubt it was issued that way, but both were Pendleton "consumer" lines so..?

For what its worth, my one and only experience with Bonney tool boxes are:

1. Red gloss paint (vs this which appears to be hammertone)
2. Square corners (vs this with round ones)
3. Inside decal (vs none here)
4. Chrome latch (vs none here)
