Title: woden planes

Hello to everyone .... I've  been working like mad trying to sell some tools.... I DEFINITELY can't keep all of these! Well, I was going to send Branson a PM , but I can't figure out how to send pictures through that. So, here are some rough Woden planes..... for Branson? Let me know

Woden was a British company, competing with Marples and Record - my impression is, mainly by copying Stanley, just like Record's later planes did.  They had some clever innovations.

If you search eBay for prices, you'll probably find most of them selling in England; they didn't seem to get over here much.  I'm amazed that you've got a gathering of them!

I've got a gathering of everything!!!!!!!!!  I had a nice guy off of eBay help me out on some plane info. I asked him if there are any particular makers marks he was after for molding planes. He rattled off a quick list. The next day I wrote him, " I've found 5 planes for you." He wrote back, "you're kidding, right?"
I'm starting to ask people that purchase something from me on ebay if they are looking for anything else....it's working out pretty well. I feel like I'm back to my chef days, yelling at waiters to "up sell "!!!  I'm getting most people who buy something from me to buy more then one thing. ... "since I'll already be sending you a package, is there anything else you need....it's won't cost any extra shipping......" the best thing that I've gotten from eBay is four or five people that have a ton of knowledge about all kinds of tools who have started to give me some of that knowledge.... we all know how many questions I have!!!!! Anyhow, if anyone is looking for a particular molding plane,transitional, metal plane,chisels,braces,marking gauges,levels,breast drills, spiral screwdrivers,hammers,leather tools,piano or a banjo (just kidding...I think I'll keep those:) let me know! Hope everyone is doing well

As I recall, Woden wasn't a long lived company.

Re-capping, the original Woden (WW) period is from early 1954 until April 1961, at Wednesbury, and the Record Woden (RW) period
 is from April 1961 until the end of production, around mid 1965, at Sheffield. This applies to all Woden planes and is the starting point
 for dating an example.
