Title: Bailey no. 3 plane
Post by: lennard on June 27, 2015, 01:19:31 PM
Hunting for wrenches I found this plane:

This plane is marked Bailey and not Stanley Bailey.

Does this mean that Bailey made this one before Stanley took over, or is this one of them carrying the name, and up to when?

Would appreciate any information.

It's just a common later model (30s & later) Stanley plane.  They were forced to put Bailey on the plane also as he had patent rights to the adjusting mechanism.

Thanks for the reply.

I already exchanged this one for a nice wrench.

Learning every day!
