Got these at auction recently. I identified them in about 5 .minutes after I got them home. They are marked D190 and D189 with a cast star on each half. Does everyone know what they are and who made them ?

they resemble hog ring or upholstery ring pliers.

Repair pliers for the guide wire used by check row corn planters -- On pg. 7 of the Dec. 1988 MVWC newsletter, a Moline Plow Co. "tools" compilation based on old parts books identifies it as "FLYING DUTCHMAN PLANTER PINCHERS FOR OPENING WIRE LINKS." Rathbone shows them on pg. 333 of the 1st. volume, with other Moline Plow Co. wrenches.

Thanks Stan, found pair that sold in King Herrington auction and Rathbone entry but my MVWC letters don't go back to 1988. Appreciate the info, now if I can find a Flying Dutchman corn planter.
