Good to see kids using their brains instead of their thumbs. I wouldn't buy one but I'm sure others might. I suppose if you had a lot of construction lumber you wanted to use for kindling, vs using just firewood. And as far as northern tool being the major supplier of industrial tools? well, lol.

Made my day - smart kid, coming up with a good idea.
Bet she was glued to her parents in the shop and around the place from the time she could walk.

I myself wouldn't buy it but it's a good idea. I am sure there are plenty of people out there who would buy it.
It's such a simple comcept, but a good one.

My interest (my wife would say 'obsession') in billhooks began over 50 years ago when as a 12 year old my dad gave me one and a pile of firewood to chop up - once chopped I bundled it, and sold it - keeping the money I made in lieu if pocket-money... Never once cut a finger... It was the fastest tool ever... I did have a bundling machine, they also made kindling chopping machines....
Several hand operated splitters are available in Europe...
