Title: Got these ratchets in the mail...and I don't know who to thank.

Nobody I know....did anybody here gift these to me?

They are nice pieces. A Blackhawk 1/4" body with 3/8" drive gear, a Thorsen open-head 3/8" that needs a detent ball and spring, and a Herbrand 1/2"er that needs some work.

bonneyman, it's a mind game.

thru the years, I have found tool hanging on my garage door and some on the porch.

some donors have been ID, yet to this day, a few donors are a mystery.

a couple years ago, I had a wrench display set up at a small town fair, when I went to pack up
after a long day, there was an adjustable wrench that I did not have sitting on the table, it had
a tag that said, " Frank, enjoy this wrench."  " I enjoyed looking at your collection and talking to you."

yes, that is one that I have never figured out.

Well, we've done some repair/cleaning work this morning.

Cleaned and tightened up the Blackhawk.
The Thorsen got a thorough cleaning and new detent ball and spring installed.
And the Herbrand has been disassembled and cleaned, and now just need to secure some assembly screws for it to go back together.

I had breakfast yesterday at the corner restaurant. When I went to pay the bill , the cashier said someone took care of the bill for you. Wouldn't say who. Mystery

Found some #5-40 screws locally, only in standard slot. But they'll do until I can get phillips replacements.

Ratchet has a smooth action of a 28 tooth gear, and very nice to hold. I think it would be a great user.

Where do you find the replacement parts for ratchets?  I have a ratchet with no markings but it looks exactly like a Snap On.

Depends. Snap-On reportedly stocks rebuild kits for every ratchet they ever made. And I've always found their customer service top notch. For an S-O rat, call them.
On the other hand, many old Craftsman ratchet kits are NLA. (Other than ebay and private stashes). Though, the RHFT style of ratchet has continued in other brands (NAPA, Armstrong, etc), so, repairing a Sears RHFT is possible.

S-K has rebuild kits for some of their older ratchets, but other styles they've discontinued. Parts availability varies with the manufacturer.

Post pics of your ratchet and the internals - maybe we can steer you in the right direction.
