Looks like a old battery/ Charging sys. tester..  Over 45 years since I used one.. and it was already old equipment at the shop...

Is that one of the old "carbon pile" testers? I don't know if I've got the name right.

Cool old machine regardless.

I used one of those almost daily , back in the 60's. I worked at an Ignition /electrical shop.
The customers were always impressed with the " Gizmos"
We always called it a carbon pile tester, or load tester.
Sold a lot of batteries with them. Easy to demonstrate to a customer the difference between a new and bad battery.
Sorry , can't help with a manual.
