Title: Information on fixing spikes

Looking for information how fixing spikes are used.

Gee! sixty "views" and no responses yet. So, I have no idea as to the application. How did you come up with the name "fixing spikes" ? Is that a hint as to the use?
I sure am curious. Some smith took time to make those for a reason.

"Here for sale are five antique wrought iron fixing spikes.
They are the type that were used for fixing door frames, fire surrounds, dresser racks etc.
They measure from 4 1/8 inches long to 9 3/8 inches.
The surface rust has been removed and they have been waxed.
Blacksmith made."

looks like you Pound spike into wood, then screw eye to frame to mount it??...

I agree with Papaw's statement,  in the 2 pictures, you can see the same line patterns in the wood.
