This was totally rusted when I found it all I could see is that there were letters on it.

Check the wrench end carefully.  The several I've seen over the years had a hex box end rather than open end -- so see if that one shows any signs of having been cut & ground off

You're correct, just checked and it has been clearly cut off.
Wasn't even ground down to try to smooth out the cut lines.
Still pretty cool.
