Title: AXLE NUT SOCKET FOR WHAT ??
Post by: Ken W. on April 22, 2015, 04:07:04 PM
I saved this from the scrap yard. It was in the mud and so filthy it took me a 1/2 hour to scrub it off. It cleaned up nicely tho. What do you think it fits ? I think it old as I haven't seen a socket with a hole in it for ages. I have a SO 1 1/16" 1/2' socket that fits perfectly inside the tube of this that I could sacrifice to turn this into a 1.2" drive. So , what do you think it fits ??

I am sure it is for a older 4x4 truck. Modern 4x4 sockets are cheaply made compared to yours. Yours is machined and modern ones are just stamped and formed of heavy gauge steel. Yours may be a military related tool ?
