I see these things at a lot of estate and garage sales sold as punches but I think they are for something else. Maybe a lathe ? There are no markings on this.

How about a clutch alignment tool?

They are for swaging copper tube. If you buy the soft type "k" in rolls it can get out of round and hard to connect. If these are what I think they are you pound one in to round the tube. Then you keep going up on one end and it will fit over the other one. Instant coupling.
The tools for type "L" and type "M" have long handles and are much more complicated.
