I bought this morning at an estate sale. None of us at the sale could figure out what it was used for, so for that reason I bought it. I figured for 5 bucks it had enough entertainment value.
I am not sure if is a kitchen devise or what. It appears to have been chromed so I figured it was to be used in wet conditions. The tool measures 19" long, the head is oval and measures 3" by 2" and is 2" thick. The head is heavy probably a pound.
Any information, wild guesses or educated guesses would be appreciated.

Hello from Canada. I had no idea what this thing is, but my wife thinks it is a type of Swedish cookie maker. This device is dipped into a bowl of batter which clings to the outer ring and then it is put into a deep frier [ thus the long handle] sort of a cross between a cookie and a doughnut I guess. It's a waffle cup maker.
You dip it in the fryer for a while to warm the iron up, then dip it in batter, then back into the fryer. Same general idea as sugarwaffles only used to make cups for deserts.

I have one of those, four interchangeable heads, for cooking, heat it in oil, dip in batter, back in the oil, makes little pastry cups, use it at Christmas time for treats.

So grab a quart of milk, 4 eggs, 2 cups of sugar crush up some vanilla beans and boil it all up till it thickens. Let it cool a while and fill those cups up.
When cooled dredge in confectioners sugar and put a dozen or so in the freezer so they get to me in good condition.
