Mighty sweet tool kit on eBay.
Simplex Tool Kit as shown in American Auto Supply ad.

I gotta agree it looks real sweet ,but I don't think it's $995 worth of sweet!

The canvass and leather look new and unused, which puts a whole lot more sweet on the table. Anybody else think the tools in the kit have been carefully accumulated to make a complete kit? They seem to show more wear and use than the canvas and leather.

Here's another tool role with fewer tools.

Same brand new looking leather. Sweeter price.

So the tool roll is a reproduction with some NOS parts, but the tools are (mostly) vintage and assembled to make a complete kit. It's a great idea. I just wonder how it will sell at that price. The smaller kit is a $125 start bid.

Beautiful.... what is included in the set of "essential" tools for keeping our 1913 automobile on the road has to give you some perspective on motoring back in the day! ... cold chisels, hammer, roll of wire, bearing scrapers, solder and a soldering copper. Gee wiz, no code scanner

These two are both from the same seller and he does admit that he's made them himself. Even the small one, ( in my opinion ) is still too high, but he he had to start the bid somewhere and you never know.

And a bottle opener, presumably so you can celebrate another successful repair.

as the seller stayed, not original tools that came with the kit.
I believe that we have some members here that could also make up a kit with
what they have stored away in boxes.
sure would like to see an original kit.

I think I have enough for two kits. I think he would find a market for the rolls.

I think it is a very cool wrap, in fact I liked all of his wraps. I think the kit would appeal to the market he has targeted, and I think he set a good price on it for that demographic. I can see that kit laid out next to a nice old hot-rod at a weekend swap meet.
It gave me ideas, for sure. I've got a couple of good sides or shoulders of leather, lots of latigo, and some dark green dyed goatskin. Could be a good project to keep me from spending too much on auctions and accumulating more stuff that I hardly have room for. I think a small one to work out the details...
Nice find there Gibson Leg17! Started the creative juices flowing for sure.
