Title: Poster's location

I notice that nobody displays their location on this new site, is that on purpose or is it a feature that hasn't been set up yet?
Nearly every one on Garage Gazette does so I guess it's not a Board problem. I can't even tell who the Aussie's are now and I was just beggining to get  my head around the abreviations for the various states. This is not complaint, just a querie.  It's great that Tool Talk is up and running again so quickly. Mmore power to Papaw !  I would have thought that membership would haved climbed higher by now?  To change and old adage a bit, I guess "You can have a new trough for the horse to drink from But you can't make him drink'

I imagine a lot have not found the new site yet.  I belong to GG so I knew as soon as TT was back. I will phone the one member I know who isn't back sometime this week.

I guess you could be right there Neals.   I was pacing the floor so to speak lookig every where for news!  I suppose not all are like that and will catch up with with it soon.

Anglesmith, I noticed the same thing that the Poster's location isn't shown. I filled my location out in my profile and thought it would display but it doesn't. Maybe Papaw can show us the way.

Simplest way is to:
Go to Profile
Click on "Modify Profile"
Click on "Forum Profile"
Add location in "Personal Text"
Your location will show under your avatar and post count.

Eventually got to putting in my location, Thanks Papaw. Goolged Alvin surounding areas and found the story of the waterfront disaster of Texas City in 1947 calamalous events arn't new are they!

Even at 5 years old at that time, I knew about the explosion in Texas City. I have family there that were affected by it.
Alvin was also damaged heavily by the storm of 1900 that almost leveled Galveston, Texas. Have family there also. A great uncle of mine poled a barge across the bay to reach Galveston in order to help in the massive clean up and rebuild. He was a character and a master of many trades, and I got some of his blacksmith tools from an aunt a couple of years ago.
