Title: Schulz's Wrench Book
Post by: Lewill2 on August 23, 2014, 04:07:18 PM
I just saw this listing on eBay for a copy of Schulz's book. I'm not sure which version it is but the starting price is low. Have at it I already have one.

Yes the original and revised, Inside Preface bottom of page on the right hand side of the page states; Revised Edition Copyright 1992.

Ah, okay thanks. Looks like mine is a copyright 1989 version. Were there many changes to the revised version?

I didn't know there were two editions either.  Had to go look at mine and it is also a 1989.  I wonder how many of each there were?

I don't know how many copies were in the first printing.  When that stock was getting low, the folks re-arranged the last four pages, increasing the number of images from 1088 to 1105.  A couple of images at the end were re-numbered but almost all the revision was new material.  The only change in the first 88 pages was to insert #854 1/2 COES KEY MODEL on pg. 67 -- mom had forgotten it -- I think they may have had something come up that interrupted them for a while.

The revision was dated 1992 and all subsequent printings were the same.  One time mom told me that altogether they'd sold about 3,000 copies.

I was the winning bidder on the book, I thought at first I paid a bit too much but I've been looking for one for quite a while and there hasn't been much available so I'm OK with what I paid.

Thanks guys, I feeling better about how much I paid when I see your comments. I will not see it for a while, I live in northern British Columbia so to save on shipping costs I get items shipped to my sons place in Oregon and our next trip down is not until the middle of October. It's like Christmas when I get there.

Sorry to re-open up an old discussion, but has anyone seen a Schulz book for-sale recently?   My wife wants to get me a copy for Christmas this year and I would REALLY like to help her find it...

Thanks,
William

Took a look at that listing.  1085 photos means it  is a copy of the first printing.  2nd edition copies have 1107  (the last number is 1106 but there is also an 854 1/2 for the Coes key Model mom accidentally left out of the 1st printing.)
