Title: D.R.G.M. Wrench
Post by: J.A.F.E. on August 21, 2011, 09:10:56 PM
Picked up this little gem since it called to me so nicely. Besides, I have an obligation to collect anything marked with four initials separated by periods. Never heard of D.R.G.M. so any idea of who made it or what it's for would be appreciated. Besides the initials and odd logo the only marking is the size, an 8, at the open end.

Normally, I would tell you that DRGM means Deutsche Reich Gebraumeister, which is a German technical patent. They ran from 1891 to WWII.

However, there should be a 5 or 6 digit number on it......

And the symbol is weird..so....

No other numbers and there is room - the other recessed panel not shown is empty.

The symbol is a lathe dog, used  for turning between centers.

That's brilliant! I thought the symbol was chipped but after reading you post and looking closer you are correct. Thank you. I guess I now what the wrench was for.

And what's that I see lying on the ground in the first picture?  A little single end wrench.  Maybe  a J.A.F.E. wrench?
