Has anyone seen something like these before. They are very well made and measure 6" long. I think they are old. Thanks

Maybe a school shop class project?

Salad pliers?

Those are neat, how are they hinged

I saw a set of wooden tongs in a shed one time similar to those. The lady said her husband worked in a potato chip factory. The wooden tongs were for picking bad chips out of the fry-line as they went by in the grease. Wood stayed cool and wouldn't retain the heat. Maybe these were for similar purpose??

Very possibly a whittled project.
A classic example for the wood whittler.

Buy a copy of "Whittling and Woodcarving by E.J. Tangerman. This little book contains a LOT of information and has patterns for many "whimsys" like pliers, pocketknives, ball-in-cage, chains, etc..
