Title: Emergency ignition box
Post by: Lostmind on August 06, 2014, 09:18:11 PM
Someone posted something similar to this in the last week , but I can't find it.
I just got this , made / marketed in Cleveland Ohio by H&K Sales.
Has the instructions on the inside lid.
For the older cars with armored cable to the coils and ignition switch.

Armored cable like the Model A Ford, right?   What is inside the box, a battery?  Coil?   Emergency as in, clip this on and it will get you home, like a limp in mode?

Many cars of the 30's used armored cable from the base of the coil to the ignition switch. The primary wires were inside. Supposed to keep the thieves from jumping the wires.
I didn't open it up , I think there is a coil and condenser inside.
Yes , Used to get you off the road and back to a repair shop.
The button is pushed down to test your condenser , if the car stalls , the condenser is bad.
In the old car hobby , there is a saying" it's always the condenser" , most guys carry a spare.
