I suppose I wrongly assumed this post was spam, and refused to follow the link through. The security guy in me doesn't want to click a Facebook media link left by a first time poster.
Can't speak on the subject of open end wrenches, but I've seen bigger pipe wrenches; I watched a couple of fire sprinkler fitters assemble a sprinkler system once, using six-foot pipe wrenches. No idea of the weight, but they did take turns: one guy would stand on the "holding" wrench, the other would operate the "turning" wrench, switching off every ten minutes or so.
Big monkey wrenchWell now, that one is clearly not a real tool :P No way he could carry that thing if it were made out of steel.
That Williams 22B is especially impressive given that it looks to be forged, not just cut out of plate. Which means that an expensive set of forge dies would be needed, the cost of which could not have been spread out over very many wrenches. They have that information listed on the link... In 1930, it cost $204 new... Which, adjusted for inflation, would be $2,897.22 today...
Wonder what a new 22B cost back in the day?
