Title: New member - Carriage wrenches
Post by: mjzae on July 14, 2014, 10:00:10 PM
Hello everyone,

My name is Mike Zaetta and I live in Arlington, VA.  I collect and deal antique horse drawn carriages, wagons, buggies, sleighs, and all the accessories.  I want to be crystal clear from the beginning and say that I am not a tool/wrench expert by any means.  In fact, I am probably more of a tool/wrench novice.

You can see the type of carriages and appointments that I buy and sell on my website at www.antiquecarriages.com

I love the carriage/buggy wrenches as they are a nice compliment to the actual carriages.  Some of the wrenches had the manufacturers names on them (example:  Studebaker) and others did not.  Some of the names that I am always looking for on ebay, and other places include Sheldon, Dalzell, Brewster, Healey, etc....

I like the fixed axle nut wrenches much more than the adjustable wrenches.  At this point, I am passing on the very basic (in design and dollar value) buggy wrenches with a open end and 4 sided closed end.

I am also buying just about anything horse and carriage/wagon/buggy/stagecoach/sleigh items.  Lamps, prints, books, just about anything you can think of.

I look forward to working with many members in the future, and I can be reached privately at mzaetta@yahoo.com.

Lastly, good news!!  For all  the talk that young people don't collect, I am only 40 and a young collector.

Mike Zaetta

Welcome Mike! Those carriages are very interesting. I sure enjoyed reading the story of the Brougham carriage on your website there.
