As above, I do like Power Hacksaws and old woodworking machines. looking forward to sharing some BS, pictures etc. Retired (happily)engineer spending time in MT and Seattle and sometimes elsewhere as the spousal unit is a traveling educational consultant. They actually pay her to talk!

Welcome!
sounds like you have good taste in tools! I have a Keller No 3 Hy-Duty, if you take a minute and set the stock up properly you can make some sweet straight cuts! I've found by impregnating the blade with tungsten carbide they last so much longer! I cut mostly solid steel, pic is of a 4 square tube for a English Wheel or the big engine stand.
oh the tungsten carbide is applied with a Rocklinizer, there are cheaper machines but the Rocklinizer can do it with so much more precision!

Oh well, Noooooooow you show up!   :cheesy:
I had a power hacksaw I finally had to give up on.
It was cute as a button too. Tittle tiny thing (on the power hacksaw scale).
But it was just too lightweight and rinky.  It was from the 60's.  An "artists conception" sculpture of a useful tool, sold at MW I think.
I tried lots of different blades and different weights and rebuilt the carriage to take up slop. But it never did work.

Maybe if I'd had some expert advise..............

Welcome aboard! I am looking for another saw. Be nice to know what to look for this time.
    yours Scott
