Title: Mobil Window Spray

Picked this little spray bottle up today. Have not had a chance to try it yet. Now to figure out when it was made.

I will get some better pictures tomorrow. Yes it sprays fluid, pumps like soap dispenser.

Cool! I wonder if that was carried by a service station attendant? I pumped gas in high school, but never saw one. It looks like it would have been perfect for spot cleaning on a car.

Here are a couple more pictures. On the bottom it says "Federal Tool Corp Chicago USA Pat Pend". On the front it has the Flying Horse logo with SOCONY-VACUUM in the bottom of it and Mobil Window Spray under that.

I found two of these that sold on worthpoint, so I did a little more digging. The "SOCONY" name is actually an abbreviated "Standard Oil Company of New York" name, which merged with the VACUUM oil Company in 1931. I do not think this was just an advertising trinket, but was used by attendants in the Mobil Gas Stations. I think yours is from the 1930's, to 1960's vintage. Mobil has a very interesting history!

SOCONY Vacuum was used for a fairly limited time in the 30s. 
Vacuum Oil was originally located on the West bank of the Genesee River in Rochester and was the originator of vacuum distilation of Pa crude coming North to Rochester by train.  In the 60s you could still make out signs painted on the sides of the building for both Vacuum Oil and SOCONY.

My best estimate at dating that pump sprayer would be 1930s due to abandonment of such products in the late 30s for War Production.  In the 50s most stations employed a half pint sprayer pressurized with compressed air for windshield cleaning,
