Looks like a #2 but the openings don't match exactly.

In the image as shown in the auction lot, the "upper right hand" opening is larger than in the comparable ones with "Maytag" script stamped on that face.  Long ago modification with significant wear & pitting to make the mark illegible perhaps?

Looks most like a number 1 to me, but still not a match. Photo courtesy of MaytagRepairMan at Smokstak.com

The ebay wrench doesn't  match any Maytag wrench that I know of.  I suppose for the price (plus shipping) you could take a chance that someday it might be identified as a Maytag.

The group photo has numbers 1 and 2 reversed according to the original tracings that Scotty Johnson made which is the one wrench collectors use.

After looking at the two variant "Maytag Wrench Number" photos,  open a new browser tab, and scroll down the page to take a look at the COLEMAN CQ gas lantern wrench (part no. Q66 ) at http://tgmarsh.faculty.noctrl.edu/wrenchaf.html
An extract from a COLEMAN CQ Lamp instruction sheet showing Q66 Wrench and Q44 Tip Wrench will appear in the June 2014 MVWC Newsletter.
