I haven't posted much because I haven't found much and very little of it vintage. This weekend was a good deal for me.
So first up I finally found a deal on a GOOD “small” MIG welder. The century I bought 2 months ago I didn’t enjoy using it. I gave $400 for a 240V 180 amp Lincoln with a 40CF argon/CO2 bottle pretty full. It has all the original manuals, some extras, and very little use and around here I got a real good deal @ $400.

I had bought some factory 18” alloys for the Wife’s Saturn last year and they had a good 2 seasons worth of tread left. Unfortunately one of the tires developed a bubble in tread last September. We ended up throwing the winter tires on early because we were tapped at the time.
I recently put the summer tires on my car and looked for a used tire for hers to no avail. I ended up ordering 4 new tires from walmart and was going to mount them myself. The very next day I found a god set of two tires with 75% tread for $50. We took the new tires back.

Today we stopped at a estate sale. It was half off day I picked up a lot of free paint along with this box of abrasives for $2.

And this vintage arc rod oven for $5.

Yesterday I went to a flea market and found a body hammer head for $5 but the deal turned out to be this innocuous orange box for $40

What do you think was in the box?

I think you can call the cops because I stole it at that price.

Nice haul, those ovens work great for keeping pvc glue warm in the winter.
-
Holy smokes, you got the superduperdelux valve grinding kit....
You will like the lincoln, the century machines are garbage, you have a 100X improvment in capabilities there...
(But no longer any excuses for whiskers ;P)
-
A complete Sioux valve seat grinder, darn, you can't buy many stones for that price. Congrats on the welder and the rest too.
-
Those are all great buys.

I am happy with what I found. I did miss out on an industrial upholstery sewing machine. they guy selling it was an A$$hat though.
I will have to look online for instructions on how to use the valve seat grinder. I do have the black and decker one but this one is more complete.

Will the Sioux valve grinder fit on these newer import car engines?
That set probably cost somewhere between 750 and 1000 dollars new.

todays Craigslist find. $25 dragged home this 9.5 foot long tire rack. should hold 2 dozen tires.

I also never posted up my new to me vintage shop receiver.

Be wise when you pick a location for tire storage.
My advice, for what it is worth:
Keep tires away from any source of combustion, especially your bench. If there is an outlet behind the rack, cover it and don't use it. Maintain at least 36" between tires and any structural components. Keep the storage in such a way that if tires fall they won't block any egress paths.
Tires are one of the worst fire protection hazards. When they burn the smoke created makes it impossible to enter the building. Hot burning and tough to extinguish fire.
Nice job with all the deals, the grinder is a gem.
