I've had these for a few years now and always wondered what they were for. They appear to have been made relatively recently, although I cannot be sure of that. There are no stampings or marking of any kind. (sorry for the blurry photo)
Any thoughts?

Firts guess would be a tool for a machine gun - the reamer looks like those used to clean carbon out of the gas tube on the auto recoil mechanism

I've seen a few machine gun combination tools and even some for regular issue rifles, but they have all been "solid", whereas this thing is like a plier. Not to say that it couldn't be a gun tool mind you, but I've just never seen a similar one? The one cutout in the plier jaws and the other one at the end of the handle do put me in mind of a 1911 barrel wrench. Sort of.

I noticed that the plier end shape when closed matches the shape on the upper handle end. If the plier end was closed over the barrel of a gun, the legs would open to make a support. Maybe for shooting or just a maintenance help.

Hey, that's an interesting suggestion. Could be I guess.
Dang, I sure wish there was a name or something stamped on this darn thing.

I'm glad it's yours and not mine. That would drive me nuts not knowing what it is. Maybe you can post photos on some gun/military forums?

I was thinking it was a gun take-down tool of some sort as well.
