Those are amazing numbers. Tooltalk has certainly come roaring back after the crash. Gosh Papaw, when do you find the time to eat and sleep?
-
WOW, were really growing :) all thanks to are contributors and most of all papaw himself.

My job is the greatest! I work from 6P to 6A, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday nights and have access to the internet all that time. Weekends are spent mostly at home these days and I have a good internet connection here.
My time spent on Tool Talk is therapeutic.
-
Way to go!!

I appreciate the forum and all you do. They (the stats) were on my mind last evening also - seeing nearly 1000 registered users.
It would be *interesting* to know what percentage of the 974 users are active participants. I'm not sure how I'd define active. Anyhow - Thank you again for the forum. Good to see the numbers growing.

Yo, what they said !!
I am out on the other forums, see a lot of you guys/girls out there also, but this is to me, my home forum.
Host, members, info, laughs, and certainly decorum, make this a great place !!

Member #1000 WAS someone calling himself Moneyput, but it was a spammer, so I deleted him.
Still at 999, and First pull is #999.

Sounds a bit funny to an Aussie, but member 1000! Congratulations mate.

I really enjoy your forum Papaw === Keep up the good work.
BTW I wonder what has become of our "Resident Rambler" Bird. She used to post a lot. We haven't heard from her in a long time.
-
Bird will surface when she can and is willing. She is a free spirit!

Back before the 2011 big crash, Papaw held a gathering of the faithful. Here is a photo. The wrench gods smiled.

no but they get a 20% off coupon from harbor freight bob w.
-
thank you papaw great job
-
Nice to see a 1000+.
Would also be nice to know all 1000 support the forum being available for our pleasure.
-
It would be my guess that this forum follows the "80-20" rule as do most things in life, i.e. 20% of the members here will put up 80% of the posts. The good thing is that the 80% that are left post some very good things.
Mike
-
If 20% of the members would post on a regular basis, we would have a lot more posts. As it is, Tool Talk averages close to 100 members visiting in any given 24 hour period, and post very good content. In our niche market, I am quite pleased with the activity we have . I have never been concerned with being the largest forum, just with the quality we have continued to exhibit here. It is all thanks to the membership that understands the reasons and value of the way Tool Talk has been set and will continue to run.

The very reason it is not apparent.
Imagine you are on a football team, on the field,
Your team has 2 players.
The other team has 48 players.
Are ya gonna stand up and wave a red flag?
;P
Glad to see them tho, would hope tools are not still considered exclusively a guy thing after all this time..

End of 2014 report-
We are 8 short of 1500 members. Tool Talk may have had that many in its early iteraion, but more were inactive than now.

Fortunately, attractive has never been one of my goals.
I'm perfectly happy to tell good looking women I'm a gender dismorphic lesbian.

NOW for a big round of applause for Papaw ! thank you Noel, a job well done and appreciated.
-
turnnut could not have said it better.
Many thanks papaw.

I would be more active here but my buys are thinning and smithy made wrenches look cool but don't generate increases in the knowledge base. They just look cool. Gotta have a catalog and factory behind them to build that.
Mostly a weekly check in to see whatever is interesting but not much to add. But I try when I can.

I too want to thank you Papaw for you creating this site and keeping it going all these years. Kinda like group therapy for all us crazy tool nuts. Your site is like a school for tool collectors. Thank you again Noel.
