Title: Help ID Unusual Kraeuter 48-8 Pliers ??
Post by: BOB55 on January 10, 2014, 06:24:06 PM
I found this unusual looking Kraeuter pliers. They are marked, "48-8" and have trace amount of red paint on them. Any help would be appreciated in identifying what they would be used for.

Interesting, they were modified post production for some special purpose...48 is the model for standard slipjoint pliers....

They look like the radiator hose clamp pliers that were used on Corbin clamps.  These were the round spring type.  I think that Ford used this type clamp.  The chain would have been used to hold the handles closed while removing the clamp...assuming that I am correct.

I would agree they do seem to have been modified.  Have the same model pliers in standard slip-joint form.

How about an introduction?
