Title: Before
Post by: lptools on October 08, 2019, 05:55:50 PM
Hello, This is a photo of a badly rusted metal clip bar/plate out of an Irwin Auger Bit Set (brace bits). This is going in the tumbler, hopefully it will emerge rust free!!! The bits are also being cleaned, but I forgot to take a "before " photo. I will post pics once I get everything cleaned and re-assembled. Regards, Lou

Hello, Bill. Here is the after. Everything cleaned up well. 12 of the 13 have the same stamp; IRWIN U S of A, the 1/2" size is a new old stock Irwin from the 1980's, hard to tell the difference. Original paperwork, I made copies if anyone needs the pamphlet. Regards, Lou

lptools-
First very nice job
Probably a dumb question. Did you use a stencil
to get IRWIN on the holder you de-rusted?

Hell, Mike. Thanks!! The Irwin is a paper label that fits over the metal plate. Luckily, the rust had not leeched into the paper. Regards, Lou
