Title: I'm sure getting the hang of digging thru auction boxes
Post by: oldgoaly on July 11, 2020, 06:00:04 PM
It's not like the old farm auction of 20-50 years ago but still fun.My exciting find? a vintage Powell air /blow gun. There were a few  hose coupling in there too, my stock pile was dwindling.

Nice!! Have you tried it yet? I'm guessing it is not one of those safety regulated way under 100 PSI tools!!

You are right, it's old back in the days of 90Psi compressors.I just took a brass brush to it to see how it cleaned up. It isn't bad can read the name and pat pnd on it, the tip is 1/8" mip plug with a hollow steel tip soldered on.

Funny auction story from this morning.
I read an auction bill the other day, said they had a Craftsman 1" ratchet/socket set from the 1940's.  Couldn't imagine what I would find, but thought maybe it was a slightly later S-K made set in 3/4".
Turned out to be a thoroughly trashed 3/4" =v= set from the 60's with a crumpled box, missing pieces, a frozen detent ball, and a bent sliding T.
But like George, my old fisherman neighbor, used to say, "If you wanna catch fish, you gotta keep your bait in the water."
And so all of us keep looking.
