So I was basking in the glow of having a HD Smith perfect handle open end wrench,
When I discovered there are a whole set of them.
down the rabbit hole we go again.
I now have 2; 9/16 and 5/8
does anyone have a whole set?

I have 9/16 and 5/8 also.
They are too expensive for me these days.
-
I paid $1 for my 1 1/8". 9 1/4" long.
Scales not included.
Made mine of oak. It was a task.

Oh, I have a 10" pipe wrench, as well.
Has a little coil spring instead of the more common leaf spring. Never saw one like that.
-
I've never found any, but I am looking for a 9/16" if anyone has an extra.

Curious. If you have none, what is the allure of a 9/16"?

These wrenches, and many others of that time, were marked with what became the USS bolt size, rather than the opening size.
These in particular were not aimed at the auto market but the industrial machinery market.
Good engineering in those days included the option of the 9/16 bolt size, one that has fallen from favor in the last half century or so.
-
I have in my collection about half of the ones available, but I don't remember the exact number that they marketed.
Mine are for bolt sizes 1/2, 5/8, 3/4, and 1".
-
I also have a couple contracted by Brown & Sharpe that are marked with opening sizes, rather than bolt sizes.
These are 1", 1 3/16, and 1 5/16.

And, while I had the camera out, here some screwdrivers, numbers 3, 4, 5, and 6, and a hammer.
-
I just got done watching Scout Crafter on YouTube refinish a HDS no. 5 screwdriver. Some people preserve tools different ways.

I mentioned above that I have a 10" pipe wrench.
Darned if I didn't get another one this afternoon. It and a #5 Hinsdale big logo open end wrench.
They are nearly identical, but I noticed that one has the words "PERFECT HANDLE" in quotation marks, like so. The other does not.
Check your tools and see what you find.

Here are my Smith open end wrenches. Don't have them all and not looking for more, these display nicely.

You guys have wonderful collections.

Those are really something.
