Ever seen a door cart like this?
« on: December 08, 2012, 11:38:18 PM »

A fellow that, before he retired, was our chief door hanger made this one. Our shop guy made a couple others very similar. Every time we pull them out, nobody has ever seen anything like it. They sure do make handling doors easy. It lays over to install hinges:

Adjustable for taller or shorter doors:

Regulation wood clamps with soft leather and a little piece of carpet as to not mar the doors:

And a little shelf with another carpet square on the bottom:

Just thought I'd share, since I've been hanging a few doors at my work and had the tool to take a few pictures of it.

I am really liking this cart!
Having wrestled a few doors in my life,
 really liking it!
Not just portable, but a rolling door vise you could use for hinge morticing and door fitting!

Always a pain, you need to trim 1/8" and taper/roll the edge, holding it with clamps and sawhorses?

I don't understand the adjustable part though? Seems like a standard height would be fine for anything except those monster tall Hollywood doors.

I remember seeing one similar in a magazine, all from wood.   Had plywood triangles making a pocket for the door.  Then wheels the same as this on a 2x4 axle.  It has to work well.

You can consider the design stolen.
