Yes, I knew the Stanley No. 1 plane was in one of the boxes, but apparently no one else did know. However, I didn't know the Berylco chipping hammer head (new) was also in one of them. It is BE CU as shown in the picture. The Stanley is as purchased, very dirty and surface rust, but no chips etc. and complete. Was a good Saturday auction but many tools were too rusty to save.

Great score!!!

Very nice!

Of course, you know that we hate you so very much!

I know, but I will bare up. I always go to auctions about an hour early to dig through anything that looks interesting. The old toolbox the plane was in was full of a lot of trash. The plane was about six inches down on the bottom. I took it out, looked it over and put it back where it originally was and threw the trash back on top. Obviously, no one else looked as hard .

I would have done the same!! If you got into a bidding war, you would have then discovered who the second person to have found it!!

If you're going to bare up, don't feel obligated to post pictures...

Clever devil.
You've trumped my $1 No. 2 plane.

You have also trumped my $1.61 (Tax Included-Pro Estate Sale Outfit) No. 2 a few years ago
Looks like the No. 1 cleaned up pretty well
I have never seen a No. 1 in person; this inspires one to continue looking
NICE HIT!

My best in the last couple of years is my Snap-on No. 6 Ratchet Adapter. One in bad shape sold the other day on the Bay for $405 and a couple are available right now.
It came with about 10 original Blackhawk sockets--the ones with the arrowhead/Indian head logo.
Got the whole pile for $15 at a big flea market in Tampa.

I can’t come close. Wow!

Lets face it, a once in a lifetime event.
