Vlcheck w, wo, wb wrench question
« on: April 15, 2012, 09:47:30 PM »
I am trying hard to understand the Vlcheck numbering system , does anyone know the time frame difference for Vlcheck for these three wrenches?
I did not see any real info on alloy artifacts on the differences.

Thanks,
Kirk

The only thing I can say about the timeline is the bottom wrench appears to be much newer, appears to be late 60s or 70s.  Their number system is based off the sizes, in 1/32's, 1214 = 12/32 and 14/32.  12/32 being equal to the 3/8 size.  The large wrench is 1820 which tells us its a 9/16 x 5/8.

I think W indicates a doe wrench and as john k said, the wrench openings in 32nd sizes.

I believe the WO is the same, but indicates polished chrome, particularly on the flats on the ends around the jaws.

WBE is for combination wrenches. WBH is double box wrenches.

WC is for newer and I assume last production combination wrenches.

I have collected a crap-load of wbe wrenches, and have found several variations on them as to the markings. I hope to do a thread on them sometime in the future, once I get everything laid out and photographed to show the differences.
