Manufacturer?
« on: February 20, 2015, 01:29:07 PM »
Any idea who made this or the tool name?  I saw it on the popular auction site.  It sold for $50.
You might say I have a tool collecting problem....

what was the wording in the listing ?

can you read the words on the wrench ?

the only one that I remember like that was a ? Dinsmore ?   1880 - 1890 ???

Bahco made some, but the only ones I remember was crescent/alligator.

The lettering was illegible.  No description in the ad.

I looked at the Ebay listing. No name and you couldn't make out anything by the pictures. The seller was aware that it was not complete and said so.

Marshalltown, Iowa production of the John R. Morris combination nut wrench & alligator wrench.  See 2nd picture in DATAMP entry for   patent no. 895,285   ( http://www.datamp.org/patents/displayPatent.php?number=895285&typeCode=0 ) which compares the older Marshalltown Iowa  "Coes wrench type adjustment"  type and newer Independence MO "auto monkey wrench adjustment" type.
