Whatsit #3 -- 062513

This one is obviously a small ax, but I was wondering the application.  It is all metal, looks handmade, and has a curved blade.

WV tools, I believe that this tool is called a clinch cutter. It is used to remove the "clinch" off a horse shoe nail so you can pull the nails back through the hoof to remove a horse shoe. If you google clinch cutter and click on the image page, you will find several simular tools.

I have had a lot of clinch cutters.  I should have known that one, but the curved blade threw me off.
