Machinist Made Hammer

Hello, This was a gift to me from my brother-in-law. He has been doing some machining lately, mostly making jigs, arbors, and adapters for his lathe & mill. This is the first tool that he made.Right now it is a display piece, I will use it once the workshop area is complete. Regards, Lou

Wow!  Very nice work.  Is it stainless steel?  Or chrome plated?  It's so shiny looking.   A true example of the machinist's art.

Lou, let him know he does fantastic work. Really nice looking hammer, and by his description, it should work for many lifetimes. Should get it engraved with maker info.

I believe that a lot of shop hammers were made in schools when they still had metal, electric and wood shops.

Lou, outstanding job! Too nice to put in your tool box. As papadan said, it would be nice with an engraving, but sans that, how about using your woodworking skills and mounting it in a "shadow box" along with the paper.
You’ll have a family heirloom for sure.
