Stoney's new grinder got me looking around for pedal tools. I found this site. WF and John Barnes Company was in Rockford, IL.

I set up near a fellow that has at least 8 of these Barnes machines. He has found and restored them individually, and I can say they are as smooth running and nicely made as the ads state. He usually brings 3 different ones, and demonstrates during the shows. The only down side to having one is the price, some people seem to think there is some gold in the cast iron.

I almost got my hands on one of the scroll saws once at an estate sale but just as I had the $20 bill in my hand the owners niece cam in and said that it wasnt for sale. Ugh! I do have to say it was kind of off to the side away from most of the other stuff that was for sale but I asked and the guy running the sale said $20. Started salivating, reached into the pocket, came out with the cash and POP! my bubble got burst by the niece. Dang! lol one of those 3 minutes earlier and it was on its way home with me.

We have a member in our tractor club that has a collection of mills, lathes, etc set up in a moving van trailer. I'll try to get photos. Really neat stuff.

I bought a New Rogers scroll saw a long time ago. Still have it. It's been converted to an electric and the motor makes it run like a monkey on crack and steroids. I've dreamed about restoring it to treadle, but where to find the parts? Affordably...

64longstep, what you got in the way of New Rogers scroll saw parts?
