Title: Needed a Hand
Post by: Lewill2 on November 13, 2017, 04:22:30 PM
I needed a hand with my wrench collection so I found this Cast iron hand that started life as part of a Deere & Mansure store display for their seed boxes to show they would drop one kernel of corn at a time. This was circa 1924.

Life size, roughly 9 inches long. If you click on the picture it will enlarge and you can see the grid of the cutting mat it is sitting on.

Back in 2009 we had a spill at work  -nothing dangerous. Just some plastic pellets. I saved a box full to see if I could make some use of them. A cheap pair of gloves, plastic pellets, a round piece of wood and some staples and I have a glovehand to hold a wrench.

Nice display for your miniatures Les. Just got to wonder, what happened to the rest of the guy that the hand was connected to?
