Bonney first wrenches?
« on: February 06, 2018, 02:05:17 PM »
Have these Bonney wrenches.
Are these the first major production of Bonney wrenches?
Are there any other sizes available?

1875-1912 or there about for the use of that logo if I'm not mistaken

AA mentions those dates.  I would guess pre-WWI when the next logo was filed.
The style looks like 1900-1920 so I guess these to be 1900-1910.

I don't know if Bonney was forging wrenches in their earliest days when they were casting vises, and if they sold wrenches prior to this model.

You are probably correct on the 1900-1910. That mark was trademarked in 1908 with first use said to be 1876. At that early of a date I would guess they were using it at least on vises. By the mid to late teens I think they were using the Shield logo. The only wrenches that I am aware of that they made prior to 1900 were aligator style.

I'm quite sure that shortly after the Durham's took over the shield logo(s) became prominent.  The shield logo comes from their history with Princeton.  So I'd date them as Pre-teens.

By the way, awesome wrenches Leg!!  I've only been lucky enough to stumble across 1 wrench with that logo.

You both are more fortunate than I. That is an example I am missing.
