yes, I chuckled whn I saw that, but we have to admire their honesty on showing the crack.

lets see, would two 6 inchers make a 12 incher ??   aw shucks.

You could make a double ended double S wrench....

DOUBLE SIDED 6" ELLIS,  what a great idea, I would like to see the bidding on that one,

you could advertize it as being able to use it on hex or square nuts/bolts, and the opposite
end with the crack, would be for cracked nuts.

Actually, I had it listed as BIN or best offer, but when watchers hit 15 in less than 24 hours, I took away the best offer. If it isn't worth $100, I'll take a sledge hammer and smash it completely. If there is still that many that are remotely interested, it has to be worth near that to at least one of them.

yes, how it was broken is a good question,  I looked at it a few times and sked myself the same question.  the other side looks so good.

I have  never seen one crack like that, they are a solid wrench.

I had seen another brand that the guy put a pipe on the handle, and the handle cracked first,
not the jaws.

in the past, I was guilty of hitting adjustables with a hammer, the same thing with wrenches.

it's good that it will be listed for a while, I have learned the hard way about putting an item
on ebay when there is already one for sale.

I had listed mine first, then the other one came on. Glad he did though, his will surpass the $100 mark easy enough, then somebody may decide to settle with the cracked one I have. I'd be more concerned if it was something that came up on ebay about every month or so, but these don't.

rustcollector,  it's looking good for you today, good luck.

sold; $187.50

I think that I will lock my Ellis's UP.

STILL LOOKING FOR THE 12 INCHER.

wrench collecting is showing no signs of slowing down.

I should have tied it to a board like so many do. Nobody would have known it was cracked until they bought it and took it off themselves..... That is the big reason I HATE wrenches zip tied or wired to boards. You never know what you bought for sure until it's to late.

It may sell, or it may not. I don't really care. It could be repaired by somebody that's good at that stuff, the rest of it functions and works great.

Depends on what wrenches you're talking about, and what happens to be the hot item of the month at the time. There's plenty of them that have gone from $200 wrenches to a struggle to get $20 from now.

and yet another 6" shows up tonight ?  not as clean as yours.

like I said, I have a 6",  but the condition of yours looks better.  if I had yours, I  would
consider filling the crack with silver solder ?

I still think yours will sell, they are just holding back.

who's holding back the 12" Ellis wrench ?

The new one listed is missing the knob to swivel the head. A person could buy the pair, mix and match, clean it all up and have one good one cheaper than the $187 one.
Edit: Actually, his has some issues with the jaw you'd need to mix and match. Wouldn't make a much better one than what mine is anyway. I would think there are plenty of people out there that could repair the crack, and besides, are you actually going to use the wrench anyway? It's going on a wall or in a display case anyway, and the crack is easily hidden compared to a missing piece.

With the other one bringing $77, I'm saying I'm not far off on mine. Mine will display better than that one and is complete just cracked. 34 watchers and nearly 600 views, not a chance I'd sell it for any less on ebay. I would in a private sale though. Only the 15% that they charge for fees though.
