Concrete Screws and Granite Tiles

I sort of wonder why there's no category here for Masonry. But I'd say a fair number of everyone here can lay concrete block. Maybe have some nice antique trowels and such. Anyway, I been using this little trick for setting granite tiles against existing wall. I use concrete screws. Picture I got shows one. I put in a handful of em, 10mm out from the concrete here. When I set the 16 x 16 inch tile in place with mortar buttered on the back, she seats right against the screws. It ain't that simple but it sure makes it easier.

Exactly. I haven't done it yet, but I figure on running right up this wall with a number of courses. Using longer screws to set the tile bottom edge on. I know an old timer that did this sort of work for many years. He told me he used wire to hold em in place for that situation. I figure screws for hooking the wire to.
